For a healthy body and mind, one should need 8 hours of sleep. Keeping this in mind, a child should spend 3-4 hours (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening) everyday home studying when there is no school. If a child attends school, he/she can spend 2 hours on the preparation.

It does depend on each child. Some cope, some do not. So parents have to decide intelligently and not overburden the child.

Try and do one hour each day for any four days of the week. Always do English, Mathematics, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning on separate days. This is a great way to get into a winning routine for 11 Plus Exam in Year 4.

This a suggested plan for someone starting out their 11 Plus Exam Preparation in Year 4. You slowly build up to doing tests under timed exam conditions towards the end of Year 5.
