- Parents who wish their children to take the Aptitude Tests must submit the Test Application Form by 18 September 2023.
- The Aptitude Tests will take place at the College: 23 September 2023.
- Parents will be notified of the test results before October 31 2023.
- Decisions on the allocation of places will be communicated in line with the nationally coordinated process on 01 March 2024.
Hockerill Anglo-European College 11+ Exam Styles
- The language and music aptitude tests do not assess a child’s current abilities but rather their propensity to acquire competence in these areas in the future. They seek to determine a child’s attitude towards developing these skills. In languages they seek to determine the propensity for the sound-symbol association, sensitivity to grammatical structure, aptitude to hear speech sounds as well as for auditory comprehension. In music, they seek to determine aptitude for identifying and developing the essential elements of music, pitch, rhythm and musical sensitivity.
- The Aptitude Tests are open to all applicants. Applicants may sit either or both tests.
