Clayesmore Senior School Prep Entry
- Once you have been to visit and decided you would like to progress your application, your child will be invited to a Taster Day (please note, Taster Days/Nights are not available during the Covid pandemic).
- Children entering in Year 6 and above will be asked to undertake an assessment to ensure the school academic standards are able to be met. You are very welcome to discuss these assessments with Prep Admissions. For children entering the School in other years, The school will require a copy of recent school reports.

Clayesmore Senior School 13+ Entry
- Once you have decided that Clayesmore may be the school for your child, there is a registration form to fill in and return to us with a registration fee of £100.
- The main entry points into the Senior School are at age 13 into Year 9, and age 16 into Year 12.
- There are also some admissions into Year 10 and, exceptionally, into Year 11.
- Scholarships for entry into Year 9 and Year 12 are offered by competitive examination in the Autumn Term prior to entry.
Clayesmore Senior School 13+ Exam Styles
- Once an application form has been received, all students are required to complete an assessment and attend an interview with the Head. For entry into Year 9 students take Common Entrance and/or scholarship exams in Mathematics, English, Science, French, and Latin for the top sets. Assessment in other subjects is based on coursework and internal assessment by the child’s current school and Head’s report.
- The needs of pupils with a specific learning difficulty will be assessed by professional staff within the Teaching & Learning Centre and in some cases the school may also ask them to complete an additional piece of written work before the offer of a place is made.
- Your son or daughter’s Common Entrance results will help the school to determine setting arrangements when they join the school and the school has an ambitious development plan to manage the academic challenge and the personal development of every pupil.
