Highgate School 4+ Exam Styles
- The first round of assessments takes place from 30 October - 10 November 2023. Candidates are seen in groups for an informal play session of around an hour.
- Subsequently, some candidates are invited to a second assessment a few days later 9 - 18 January 2024. This follows the same format but explores children’s understanding and capabilities in greater depth.

Highgate School 7+ Exam Styles
- Candidates sit tests at Highgate, with papers in English, Mathematics and non-verbal reasoning. School also request a confidential report from your child’s current headteacher.
- A significant proportion of our candidates are invited back and interviewed in groups. They attend taster lessons and have the opportunity to find out more about Highgate.
- Criteria for 7+ entry.

Highgate School 11+ Exam Styles
- Candidates will sit tests at the school in December. There are papers in English and Mathematics, plus a non-verbal or verbal reasoning test.
- The English paper has been revised to better reflect changes in the NC KS2.
- The maths and NVR papers are specially designed so that no specific syllabus or preparation is desirable or necessary.
- A significant proportion of candidates are invited back for activities and interviews. This consists of a group interview and taster lessons and is a great opportunity to learn more about our School.
- School also receive a confidential reference from your child's head. In 2024, there will be places for approximately 90 pupils (girls and boys) to join 80 pupils from the Junior School moving into Year 7 in the Senior School.
