Hurstpierpoint College Reception Exam Styles
Assessment days are held in November before the year of entry. Your child will be invited to spend an hour in the current Reception classroom – a friendly, informal environment – where they will participate in group activities and games. The sessions are relaxed and parents are invited to stay for refreshments in a room close by.

- Assessment day - your child will attend one of these days. The day will consist of a series of Academic assessments, activities and an interview as well as participation in team-building activities: Saturday 25 November 2023.

Hurstpierpoint College Year 7 (11+) Exam Styles
- In late November of Year 6, School conduct assessment days where students take Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning tests.
- These standardized tests are utilized to gauge their abilities and academic performance. It's important to note that these tests are intentionally designed so that students do not need to prepare for them, ensuring fairness in the results.
- Furthermore, students will be given a writing task and will participate in interactive activities, typically involving Design and Technology, Science, and games.
- During this time, all students will also have an interview with a senior staff member and will join current students for lunch.
- It's worth mentioning that all students participating in the Year 7 assessments will automatically be considered for an Academic Scholarship based on their test results.

Hurstpierpoint College Year 9 (13+) Exam Styles
- Students registered to join Hurst at the 13+ level (Year 9) will be required to take the ISEB Common Pre-tests online during Year 6.
- These tests are computer-based and standardized for the students' age, assessing both their abilities and academic achievements.

- Typically, students take these tests at their Prep School, and your Prep School will coordinate the timing. However, for students attending non-Common Entrance schools, we will make arrangements for them to complete the tests at Hurst.
