S. Anselm's College 11+ Entry process

  • Entrance to S. Anselm’s is non-selective, however, entrance is at the discretion of the Headteacher and from the Pre-Prep School upwards, the offer of a place is subject to an interview.
  • All pupils should be registered for entry to the School through the completion of the School’s formal Registration Form. A non-refundable registration fee of £100 should be made at this stage
  • Parents will be asked to provide the school with their original birth certificate as a proof for nationality.

S. Anselm's College 11+ Exam Styles

  • Children can join the Prep School from 7 years old.  Prospective pupils and their parents will be invited to an interview with the Headteacher.
  • The School awards Academic Scholarships based on examination performance in the Summer Term of Year 8. Internal candidates will sit Common Entrance (or, where appropriate, scholarship papers). External candidates will be invited and to an interview with the Head and to sit examinations during exam week. This will include English, Maths, Science and standardised testing, with optional examinations in languages and non-core subjects. This will be discussed on a case-by-case basis with external applicants.

  • Whilst entrance to S. Anselm’s College is officially from Year 9 (age 13) onwards, the school is pleased to accept children from Year 7 (age 11).
  • Prospective College pupils will be invited to an interview with the Head of College and the Headteacher.  If a scholarship is being considered, references will be taken up from the pupil’s current school.
