During the assessment, School invites children to:

The children are assessed in small groups, which enables the school to also evaluate their social skills and interactions. All parents are invited to meet with the Head of Junior School prior to the assessment day.

Assessments involve spending a full day at the College as well as:
- an assessment of the child's academic ability and potential, with tests focusing on numeracy and literacy;
- an evaluation of their in-class learning behaviours;
- an evaluation of the child's social skills and interactions with both peers and adults;
- consideration of reports and/or references from their current school.

St Dunstan’s College 11+ Exam Styles
- Students who wish to enter the Senior School at 11+ are assessed on the basis of Entrance Assessments, Interview and a School Reference from your child’s current Headteacher. Candidates will sit a series of online ISEB assessments.
- ISEB Common Pre-test is a computer-based test with sections covering Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning, English and Maths, and it takes two and a half hours to complete (English 25 minutes, mathematics 50 minutes, non-verbal reasoning 32 minutes, verbal reasoning 36 minutes)
- verbal reasoning question styles include common words, antonyms, word combinations, letter transfer, number codes
- non-verbal reasoning question styles include shape analogies, classes like horizontal codes
- English question styles include reading comprehension, sentence completion, spelling and punctuation
- mathematics content is in line with the National Curriculum; candidates are assessed on National Curriculum topics taught up to the end of Year 5
