Claremont Fan Court School Year 7 (11+) Exam Styles
- All pupils will then be invited to sit the entrance assessments comprising of mathematics (specimen paper below) and English (including creative-writing, specimen papers available commercially). By exception this year, School will not be running a verbal reasoning test within the Year 7 entrance process. Calculators are not permitted but extra time will be allowed if there is appropriate evidence to support the request

Claremont Fan Court Year 9 (13+) Exam Dates
- The school offer a ‘pre-test’ for current Year 6 pupils who wish to join us when they reach Year 9
- Prospective pupils are invited to sit the entrance assessments during Year 6 (see Year 7 entry above). We will also request a reference from the pupil’s current school to help assess character
- Successful applicants will be offered a place
- During Year 7 school will seek assurance from the pupil’s current school regarding the pupil’s progress

- In Year 8, pupils sitting common entrance are expected to achieve 55% in English, mathematics, science, one humanity subject and one language. Applications for scholarships may be made during this year
